No matter you are a beginner or an advanced French learner, getting by in France is a whole new level! Having stayed in France for more than half a year, I want to start a brand new series "French it UP" for my blog, introducing all of you what are the words, phrases or even mannerisms that you will not learn from textbooks!

For my first article of the brand-new series, I have decided to talk about dining in France as we all know French love their food!

Dialogue:

Vocabulary:

Remember:

1. You are advised not to raise your hand to the waiter or waitress in a French restaurant. Simply close your menu and wait or chat with your friends. They will come up to you and take your order.

2. Don't cut your salad with your knife. Fold your salad with knife and fork.

3. Keep your hands visible on the table! Beware not the whole arm haha!

4. If you are served with baguette, leave it next to your plate, not on top of it! This is called the "Baguettiquette"!

5. Remember to say "Bon Appétit" before eating!

That's all for today and hope you find the information helpful! If you interested in knowing where you can get good food in Toulouse, check out this link.

If you have any enquiries, tips or even experience on travelling abroad for studying or good food, please comment below!

À la prochaine fois!
